Hi there,

First off I just wanna say I love this site. The layout looks amazing and the information is priceless. Thanks alot MPC-Tutor great job, bravo!!.

I Have the MPC 2000xl. Now on to my problem...

I know how to change the pitch of a certain sample using the "note variation" slider and also the "16 step" button. My concern is this; I have a very complicated melody that I would like to go down in pitch after the first two bars. Normally I would just piece each instrument in separately while I change the pitch but this melody has proved to be very difficult to re-produce using this method. Instead I am putting the melody in without the pitch shift and then editing the parameters in step edit. Although this method does get what I want to achieve but it seems to be a very lengthy process because of the complexity of the melody. I don't know if this is the way to do it or if I am doing this the hard way and there is a better method. Using step edit is kind of annoying especially if the events you are editing span 2 bars and are on more than one track.

Here is my question..

Is there a way to see all events (all in the sequence and in each track) together and edit them simultaneously in step edit?

There are a lot of pieces but is it worthwhile copying the sounds to another program and pitching them down that way?

Is there a function in the edit window that will provide me with the effect I need?

Sorry to bug ya again mpc-tutor but I tried what you mention and I was able to do a pitch shift but it did not turn out as I intended. In fact it was not at all what I wanted perhaps you can help.

Now with this Transpose function I can only transpose one pad at a time but funny thing happened. There were pitch shifts but not the notes that were in the sequence to begin with  ???  

I wrote down the note numbers of the pads I wanted to transpose (58, 60 and 68) but it doesn't seem to work the way i intended. Could you give me any suggestions?[/color]
