Hey folks, this video is really helping me to get past the whole "how do I finish tracks", problem.

I also feel a lot more motivated and excited about making music in general. Producing was starting to become monotonous and dreadful and if the thrill is gone, something's wrong. Hope it works for you!

I've been banging out tracks with this method a lot lately. Firstly, I frequently listen to shit like Mr. Oizo, sebastiAn, and Boards of Canada, who often do little snippets and tracks in between full, fleshed-out songs, so I've always been rather partial to a perfect 30 to 60 second clip. Secondly, I have a habit of making loops or riffs that stand pretty well on their own, where it feels like adding anything more would drown out their essence, not to mention the fact that I have a tendency to sample & resample my material, so often I don't even have the original sounds & sequences around for me to expand upon. Sometimes what you're trying to say or accomplish can be done with less than a minute's worth of material and I've been learning to embrace that.
