Ableton Live Warping Now in Simpler...MPC Touch or 1.9?

I feel the same way as some people in here! Im on the verge of selling my Ren/MPC Studio and switching to ableton/push2. For years i tried and didnt listen to other people about ableton but once i saw the new update and Push 2, it caught my attention. I just feel im at a road block with the MPC and i feel like ive done everything possible. Doing the same thing and having the same workflow for years can get boring and very uninspiring. Im sick of being loyal to Akai and waiting for whatever update thats been in other programs for years and after playing with ableton last night, i dont even want to look at the MPC software lol. Ableton can take it to that next level, I havent had fun making music in a long time and ableton is just that. Akai as a company is pretty far behind and generic compared to ableton! Trust me, Roger Linn is laughing to HAHAHA. Who else agree's and who will sell there Ren's/Studio's lol. Im keeping my MPC 1000 By the way! MPC Touch!!??? what a **** joke

Before you sell anything lets see what's in 1.9. you should download the ableton demo in the meantime.

KOMPLETE KONTROL chord mode on deck! Just got the new Maschine update last night too and whoooooooooo!!!!! Im waiting on INMUSIC to answer Ableton with a 1.8.3....1.9 or whatever includes real-time time-stretching with warp AND mate that with the Akai Advance Keyboard CHORD MODE and ball game. I got my goons wit me! We all on the same page now! We ready to sell! Sell! Sell!

I have since last night! It was a lil frustrating at first but now its tons of fun. Chopping in simpler is what i always wanted. I havent even done warping yet and im already sold

Push 2 has been selling out in my area QUICK! I got the last one on hold right now. They have a 45-day money back return and they will buy my Ren if i decide to do that. on the way to GC right now, report back soon

Looking at all these 9.5 videos on YouTube is f*cking crazy. Having only used Ableton like 5 years ago, I think I'm going to give this daw a try now as I find myself even less interested in using my MPCs lately.

I should put the 30 day demo to the test on my 2011 Mac Mini before I make any decisions. It's gotta run better than Reason which is a total CPU hog.

You guys are gonna laugh at me but after all the **** i talked about earlier, i decided im gonna hold off and not get the push. I plugged the ren back up and the workflow is just super fast where as i was getting frustrated with ableton to do simple things. I know the Ren doesnt have real time warping but i can honestly live without that. Something about the Ren soundcard that just makes everything BANG HARD. I was using my RME UCX interface with the ableton demo and it was too clean sounding compared to the ren. I love my RME but i honestly think ableton does have its own sound which made it sound like that. Anyways, I need to make up for all the lost time i spent on ableton videos and actually using the program and make about 5 beats before i go to bed tonight LOL.

So, what were the hurdles which made you go back to the MPC?

Ableton user here from 5.2 version...i would say hardcore user untill version 8, after that i learnt pro tools and logic which i use until today for work.
Dont get me wrong i still use Live time to time ad i like it Allot, Ihmo still the best daw for midi and audio mangling.
I bought push 2 years ago, but i got frustrated because i could not do basic stuff like sample prehear and sample swapping on the fly, anyway at the beginning i use it allot specially for playing vst with the scale mode.
After a month i put back push in its box and went back to mpc ren, virus ti, tr8, ms20 and pro tools 11.
Now i took back push1 and give it a try with Live 9.5...
While i was impressed about the new simpler and specially the new filters nested in abletons synths, sampler, autofilter, etc..i wasnt about my push 1 integration...
Now i can prehear and swap sample on the fly, but the added workflow for chopping and duplicating pads seems to me still clunky and not very fast...it could be because i got push1, possibly with push2 things gonna be better.
Anyway my advice to you guys is to wait and dont sell out your gears and your ass for the ableton/push 2 combo, IHMO its not an mpc and you could possibly dont like the workflow.
While the mpc soft still got some flaws and quirks, IHMO now is the fastest and best worflow for building kits and chopping samples.

I can't seem to nail down a workflow in Ableton without getting pissed. Ableton is not for me. I'm really not interested in it, at least for now.

Same here. I get so frustrated with those tiny triangles...damn!
Push 2 looks pretty cool if you like ableton. Hope Propellerheads did a controller like that. But I don't think so.
Anyway I see some of you here riding the hype with this new push.
I have to say that I chose the MPC over others BECAUSE the workflow. And I like some of the lacks of it too. I mean MPC in general not the software specifically. The way of doing things. It is inspiring for me.

Welcome to the team . My push 2 will be delivered tomorrow. The new simpler with push v1 is already a fluid workflow. This is a dream come true. Listen to records, like that little piece and slice. It's a quick and dirty way of getting ideas out. I mean I will still use audition and melodyne editor to refine the sample, but now it's the ability to say is this loop worth flipping?

How much time have you spent flipping a loop then later on nothing comes into fruition?
