Caustic 3.2 beta is out and it is sick!! Got it and been testing it..great app for android, also runs on ios windows and mac. I see yall sleeping on caustic over here.

Yeah I've been sleeping on it bigtime. Not sure if it's for me. I don't like the GUI and I'm spoiled by Gadget. I know there were a few other things I read in the reviews that kept me away from it that I can't recall at the moment. But I'm keeping my eye out for the next version.

IOS 9 Scary App Problems

iOS 9 has been out for 2 months now and the amount of worrisome issues on this one has been relatively minor. That isn't to say that it has been smooth sailing for everyone though, and new problems are cropping up with some apps.

One particular problem was particularly scary for Music Inclusive's Derek Jones this weekend! He posted a PSA to the iPad Musician Facebook group warning about a bug that appeared to brick his iPad mini after launching Poseidon.

Beware of Poseidon
It may have just bricked an iPad mini I have.

I was playing wih the pole / zero filter and it hung and will not reset in any way shape or form. All black. Won't turn on. Was fully charged.

Derek reported that his attempts to hard reset (holding Power + Home buttons) all failed. After a lot of panicking he said "something" appeared on screen.

"I really thought it was bricked until I accidentally swiped down the Notifications panel. Then I tried swipe up. That worked. *THEN* I could home+power reset, but not before. That is concerning. This mini 2 is on iOS 9."
In that thread Mathias Hellquist said he had a similar "lock-up" issue when he launched Gumdrops on iOS 9.

"Just turned the entire ipad unresponsive (as in nothing worked). Had to long-press home+power to end its misery, but that didn't work the first few times I tried it either.

Figured it was something odd going on, so opened Gumdrops again, after first ensuring it was the only app running (which it hadn't been the first time). The same happened again."

It should be noted that no one has reported any issues with Poseidon on iOS 8, and it is unclear at this time if the fault lies with Poseidon or if Poseidon is just hitting something funky in iOS 9. In either case it sounds like a super scary scenario!

Looks like I'll pass on Poseidon since I'm running an iPad Mini 2 with iOS 9.

It is ugly to look at at first, but switch the skin to the darker one, or something that doesnt look so toyish. The pcmsynth is a beast for samples and will even find the key of ur samples so u can build dope synths.. i was turned off at first by it, but once u sit with it and learn it its a beast, i cant believe cats here are not using it.. it can get very deep in caustic and its flawless on android

Virsyn is aware of this problem and has already submitted a fix to the Appstore. It should be available in a couple of days.

It is good when developers monitor the forums and respond quickly to user feedback and problems.

I'm in the same boat. I purchased Caustic for the Ipad. I liked it, kind of reminds me of Reason, but I too have been spoiled by Gadget. I'm looking forward to the new release and some of the cool new features though.

Thanks for posting that video. I never bothered to check youtube, and the app didnt seem so appealing in the app store. But now, I'm becoming more interested in it. The GUI isn't as bad as I thought. I'm gonna grab it when the new version is ready.

Yea, i thought it was ugly as shit and i changed the skin, the mixer and devices look better black..the first time i checked it out i had an ios device and never botherd with it, but as an android user i started messing with it and was shocked how deep it went.. **** love this app

The update is now available. It fixes the reported problems. Also, the user who thought his Ipad was "bricked" discovered that it wasn't. He was able to reboot it. Sounds like he overreacted just a bit:)

That was quick. I wish Waldorf would have been as quick with Attack Drums. It appears that Christian from Waldorf Music responded in the comments about submitting an update last Friday. But it's still not available. Yet the update for Poseidon was released with no hesitation at all. Waldorf is blowing smoke up everyone's asses. But anyway, yeah I agree that the user who reported Poseidon to brick his iPad may have been a bit hasty. How would you compare Poseidon to Nave? I don't want to pull the trigger on Poseidon yet, since I want to know more.

Waldorf Attack Drums has finally been updated, and even though I was getting annoyed waiting for the past 2 months, it's been worth the wait to have all the added features.

I haven't pulled the trigger on Poseidon yet. I do have Attack, glad to see the update is available. I also have Nave.

iMaschine 2 looks cool, especially if you own any of the Maschine hardware. The only thing limiting this app is the way it imports samples through the iTunes library. I wish it had drop box import or audio copy at the very least. I also wish it had IAA and AudioBus compatibility. I guess they wanna keep this app designed exclusively for Maschine users. Right now, it's on sale for $5 until December 1st. But it's limitations are making me want to pass it up.

Attack and Nave are my go-to apps. I'm really happy with Attack now with the new features. But they need to fix the IAA problem, which they're aware of now. Then I'll be able to use it in Cubasis without workararounds or further hassles.

I'm pretty sure it has Audiobus and IAA. Audiobus was added to the previous version a while ago. Another compelling reason is this:
