The more we have , the more we want...some of you dudes want feature's and haven't quite mastered the ones you have. Give Stevie 1 synth and he'll make a classic, you either have it or you don't . I like Tech but , I not relying on it to put all the tricks in my music, just so it can sound good. If the idea is not good, I don't care what you use, its just not working. just saying.

+100... the thing now is as technology and music merge closer together, most get too lazy and don't want to put in the extra work. People want everything in one box to do EVERYTHING. look at all of the limitations mpc's had back in the days. they made work, what they had and made classic music.

The point is not to do unnecessary extra work. It's to do extra work, if necessary. This is music and musicians work off of vibe and to maintain that focus of the vibe u can't afford to have it interrupted by extra work when there's actually a more straight forward solution

I'm not against new technology to assist with a more straight forward solution but my point is some, not all but some just want everything handed to them without them doing any (un)necessary work. That is why I call some people lazy. producers today are not that much different than producers from back in the day to the point of getting one thing done.... A good finished product.

This is dead as I just checked Guitar Center and they pushed it back to December 7. I checked it yesterday and it was still 11-18.

So you are looking at 60 days from announcement to release in the wild, sweetwater also said more than likely December.

Any update on 1.9!!??? cause seriously Akai is in last place right now. Every other company got some next level innovative gear and we are still waiting on basic stuff and still looking at our choppy, slow ancient blue screen

Why do I have a feeling Akai is gonna release 1.9 when the Touch drops.

I think what you're kinda missing is the fact that a lot of us aren't really making issues about the new ground-breaking additions that we want for the REN, but more the basic essential features that were supposed to come with it in the first place.
Features like audio tracks etc, are a no brainer if you're gonna introduce a new mpc as a DAW, no?

If you all want audio tracks in the mpc software youre going about it the wrong way. What you have to do is beg NI Maschine to add audio tracks. Once they do it then Numark will follow.

Like the scales and chord mode. Ive been asking that dude Peety G or whatever his name is to implement it. He responded like it was way on the backburner..Maschine did it and Numark quickly followed.

Go on the NI's forums galvanize a audio tracks feature request movement. Once they do it the MPC software will have audio tracks on their very next release. Do it and watch Akai/Numark follow the leader.

While I agree to a point, ..... give Stevie a rhodes, a bass, a harmonica, a drum-set, and a microphone ... put up MPC software on the screen and he'll say put the toys away, I need a program that can record audio. He's not going to be playing crappy harmonica samples on a midi keyboard. Or his voice.

The ONE only feature that I miss on the REN is audio tracks. Is it essential? No... But it would make arranging a tune so much easier, especially if you want to utilize instruments that aren't virtual.

Well said, audio tracks would mean you could keep everything consolidated with the mpc. One thing, when I had the 5000, it had continuous sample play which was pretty cool, better than the god awful hard disc recording thing. If only they could implement audio tracks with punch in and out
