Andy Mac's MPC Touch Demo

Nice... I'll get a brew on and check this out.

The user interface looks great, I like how all the options are just laid out there. The stand is horrible glad it's detachable. In depth sample edit by touch screen doesn't seem that fun. The zoom in during scrolling seems tedious due to minor lag.

Outside of xy and track lengths, it doesn't seem like there are many oh my god features in 1.9. Overall the basics of track building are very fast.

I think studio owners will like it. I don't see this replacing my Ren. Good interface though and it does seem fun to use especially the step sequencer.

The screen glare was unfortunate and completely avoidable.

The X/Y effects sound dated and unusable in a production context. I can't imagine anyone using them live either. They also need to rethink the double tap to select certain elements... a double tap in touchscreen lingo means zoom.

If the mythical standalone version of this has a laggy screen like the Touch, I doubt I'll be interested in it.

Concerned at the size of some icons, looks fiddly especially if you have big hands. Seems like the screen is perhaps too small for the UI, maybe a 9" would be better.

All and all looks nice. It is true that the screen feels a little laggy and small.
And I think he forgot to mention that it brings the iconic MPC 3000 output circuitry LOL

the icons on screen do look small and fiddly

the stand is awful, the instrument does not have the same excitement post push release

at this point i need to use the device hands on in store before buying, i need to get a fist hand look

and the chops and wave scrolling seemed somewhat impercise; but still over all a step in the right direction

I think I'll be sticking with my Ren. I'm in it for tools, not toys. This has more of a toy appeal than a tool appeal.

I'm not leaving the Ren for that.
I'm not trading in my Cadillac for a Prius, not now.

Anyway, this is not replacing the flagship MPC Ren. This is comparable to the MPC Studio with a touch screen. I will wait on the updated Ren version while I pick-up the Push 2. Glad I saw this video.

Yeah really! what the hell is going on at 20:23 LOL????? Im really not interested in this unit! could work for other people but mos def not for me. I will stick to my MPC 1000, MPC Ren/Studio. I was so close to buying a push 2 the other day but i held off. As both are $799, the push 2 would be the better choice if you already have the ableton software. The way the touch is being marketed and those new kits it comes with really is a thumbs down. Its not too far off from the beat thang LOL. Can we get 1.9 and the other "2" rumored units please???

I dont like the concept of making music with a touchscreen, i dont like the aesthetic of the machine (seems come out from someone high on crack in the 80'...) and i dont like that fckin liar which ihmo lost any kind of credibility to my eyes...

I wonder if it has real time swing, and time warp (real time).
