Yeah really! what the hell is going on at 20:23 LOL????? Im really not interested in this unit! could work for other people but mos def not for me. I will stick to my MPC 1000, MPC Ren/Studio. I was so close to buying a push 2 the other day but i held off. As both are $799, the push 2 would be the better choice if you already have the ableton software. The way the touch is being marketed and those new kits it comes with really is a thumbs down. Its not too far off from the beat thang LOL. Can we get 1.9 and the other "2" rumored units please???

Are u impressed with this mpc touch base on that vid?

cos I aint seems like there was no real new features outside of the touch screen

like when I watch ableton vid the instrument seems to have so much creative depth; and head room for growth.

whereas this vid seemed like he spent half the vid just demoing the sound pack due to lack of features and innovation in the actual system.

It will have bugs too at the first release, you know the routine. Spending years to correct it, while fans asking for basic features. I have learned my lesson with the 5000 (petition) and the Ren. I traded my old Push for the new Push 2. I expect it within a few weeks. They did put in MPC 4000 features, like real time swing and time warp.

I can't say I was blown away after watching that video, mainly as the touchscreen operation seems clunky. Reminds me of the old Windows 6.5 smartphones, where the OS was basically a desktop OS scaled down for a small touch screen, so lots of fiddly little icons, everything crammed in.

Not that bothered about new features, prefer to see them improve existing features and optimise for touch operation.

But all that 'xy' stuff does seem a bit too 'DJ' for my liking, I wouldn't use it much in my own music, it's all a bit too obvious. But I think it's clear who they are targeting these days.

iu can record those x/y pad movements as automation so that could be useful in production.

but the build did not seem to solid mainly due to the stand.

but i think the term gimmick seems to apply here more than the term functional

I agree with the comments. The touchscreen responds like it works independently from the MPC software--just like some of those iPad apps that control software (OMNI TR, etc.). This could be the reason for the lag. The thing was not responding well at all at 13:37-13:40--he had to pinch the hell out of when he used the touchscreen on the sample wave LOL. Looks like he even had to add some grease to his fingers LOL!

This thing may actually be a step backwards from the Ren and/or Studio. It certainly seems like the MPC Touch requires a lot more screen flipping and finger fiddling than the Ren to get around the software too. Maybe it will get better with time.

In the meanwhile, Pete's latest tweet, 09:10 - 11 nov. 2015: "More MPC news on the way very soon."

Seems much more geared towards techno than hip hop. The sounds and step sequencer would work much better for house than hip hop. Seems more like an electribe or something than an MPC. Plus some of the magic of using the MPC is NOT staring a screen the whole time. I feel much more creative when I'm not staring at a grid the whole time. Would defiantly buy for a 16 year old who wants his first all in one beat machine but its not for me.

The more I see of this, the more and more it doesn't look appealing to me. Even if they release a standalone flagship, that touch screen is actually a bit of a turnoff to me - based on these videos.

And with regard to what Pete said, they had to say something - the Push release is making the Touch look a lot less interesting IMO. Personally I'm leaning more toward an MPD with Logic now. Logic Pro X chopping is actually WAY better than it used to be.

Id rather do exact chop with the q links on my ren then with my large fingers on a tiny touch screen. Imagine how tedious that would be with a large sample and tons of precise chops.
