Seperate track quantize??

Is the quantize global or can you quantize each track with diff vaules???

You CAN have different quantize settings on different tracks. Just set each track to a different quantize setting as you desire. Example: Track 1 (50% Quantize), Track 2 (100% Quantize), Track 3 (Quantize Off). When you start a new project the default setting across the board is 100% unless you change each track to its own setting.

Really!???? Very interesting. Last time i heard it wasnt possible but i just wanted to double check. Imma try it out, thx.

Yes. I think it is possible. I think it is because I recently hooked up a track at about 70 BPM. Tracks 1- 10 were all quantized at 1/16. To give it like a 3 6 mafia or BTNH vibe, I laid 2 or 3 more tracks of Hi-Hats at 1/32T. The swing I think is a different story. I think thats global.

You can select notes on different tracks and quantise them to different values but it won't remember your settings per track when you exit and go back, unfortunately. So if you want to quantise your kicks at say 67% swing and your snares at 53% then you will need to remember and make notes of which settings you're using on each track - then you can quantise any new recorded notes at the correct values. Looks like there is a built in project notes feature in 1.9, though so that should make it easier.

You know what! I shoulda named this thread "Separate track swing" So your telling my i gotta input my swing settings everytime i open the beat and it wont save them??

No, of course it saves it. Software applies the swing for the notes at the grid. It just doesn't remember what swing% has been applied to that particular track.

Let's say you've applied 63% swing for your kicks. Now later on you've messed up and applied 51% swing to that same exact track. Now you're unable to be sure what the original swing% was.

It hasn't really been a problem for me (and I have not been making any notes), but I surely would like to see this one working a bit better.

It's about time they overhauled the quantize so that it's fully realtime with the settings saved for each track.
