Just wondering has any of these updates ever been able to recognize an Avid HD IO before this update? This update also seems to be working smoother as a plugin within Pro Tools 11 (HD). Maybe this is old news and I just might be getting overly excited about old news. Just wanted to share this observation if it is not old news.

Yes. It comes up in Pro Tools 11 HD. Also the MPC software recognizes the Avid HD IO box in Preferences/Audio.

What exactly is Slice to pad? At first I thought it was lazy chop by pad instead of the F keys.

Taking time to keep a open mind about this update and I'm finding the new mixer is great and the projects notes was a great add for going from MPC software to DAW with less headache. Now if Akai can do a follow up by adding separate midi channels in mixer for plugins to add effects which would be nice with the Advance keyboard and/or Kontakt. Until that update comes I will continue to duplicate plugins.
The next big thing is a combo of the Touch screen, Advance software and MPC (software and hardware) in one nice new package.

Still no Midi direct record to DAW? various midi channels? Vsts integrations? nor drag & drop of any type? SERIOUS????
Please, STOP trying to mutate this incomplete and lack of development software into a meeeeeeh DAW...It's impossible now you to convert it into something solid in that sense without 4 years more...It's a problem of design philosofy and obviously capabilities and development/commercial strategy/budgets against real DAW of 2015!
Invert all your efforts into what it should be from the beginning...a SOLID and COHERENT alternative for classic MPCs in 2015 and PC environment and advantages (pleaaaaase!)!! and a congruent Instrument for the integration in modern Home Studios. It's not that hard to understand this and even to make it!!
I will check the so called "project notes"....but a "lighter headache" is not the correct answer after 3 years...neither the adequate system behavior or lack of crashes...those are MUSTs from the beginning as a lot more!!!
I will express my definitive opinion and judgement when 2.0 is out...for sure FREE or I will do SOMETHING Serious. I'm even considering a formal impeachment in Consumers associations in Europe. Limiting some machines "by design" and offering confuse advertising about functionalities is very commercialy doubtful in fact....and should be avoided or prosecuted. Also another policies and tactics,...that for sure I will be spreading and sinking their reputation in every Internet forum as a pleasuring hobby.

Absolutely. This update has turned the Ren into a more solid workstation.
It's weird, the most unspectacular update has probably had the most effect on my workflow.

My thoughts exactly I read the forum all the time and signed up just to see if I could get a answer for this as well. Is this a new feature for the Renaissance too or for the Touch only?
