You can get Push2/Ableton to feel good, but it takes more fidgeting when you are a novice. Sometimes having multiple options (swing settings, quantize percentages, etc.) can add more time to your workflow.

Anyway I agree with the above post, Push2/Ableton can be quite tedious especially when working with samples. The MPC Ren and Maschine are more seamless for those who use samples as musical elements. Even though I still feel that there is something about the way the Ren glues everything together--Maschine lacks this.

Yes, I had that too with the Push 1. But the workflow in the Push 2 is different and has improved. However, the MPC sequence remains unmatched, thus far.

I find maschine is similar in this regard I can get the drums to bounce better in mpc with lass hassle; even if I turn off the quantize grid.

but elaborate on what u mean by the ren glues everything together in a way that maschine lacks

Just reading things here, I'm going to throw in a wild guess and say the vintage modes may "glue" things a little, since they seem to be doing some sort of compression/limiting.

Nah, I don't use the Vintage mode. I am speaking more about the sequencing.

When using samples in the Maschine I found that I had to work hard to get things to sound comfortable. Things like sequencing the samples, drums feeling good under the samples, etc. All of this took me more work in Maschine Studio. I do not have the same level of work on the MPC Ren. Even when things were off they are more musical in the Ren. In the Maschine when things were off it just sounded wrong. I found this to be especially true when the end of the phrase was returning to bar 1.

If an event is at 04.04.233 in the Ren and in Maschine, how can it sound more musical in one sequencer over the other? Both events are being played at 04.04.233, it is what it is, there's nothing more to it than that, and that's how it should be. A sequencer should play back events as instructed, there should be no 'musical voodoo' going down when it comes to playing back MIDI events (and there isn't).

In theory that is all correct but in practice there are subtle differences; its hard to explain but u can hear/feel the difference between programming drums in 1/16, 1/32 or even un-quantized on maschine vs mpc.

it might be some sort of grid differences like say one grid the lines are .5mm and another grid the lines are .3mm.

so even when 04.04.233 is on both because of the space between the grid squares is different but the same reference point in the grid.

Mine is it the mail, my usual sales guy says "you sure you want this?" lol
Why is there a side of me that questions this purchase? Ahhhh, well see...looking alright so far though!

I feel for you guys who bought a Rennaisance, you guys know how the game go. After the Touch there will be something else.

I cancelled my touch pre order, I'm still debating over the Push 2 or the Ren. I have the studio but the qlinks have to go. I mainly want the Ren for the 16 qlinks.

Guitar Center has 15% off coupon for blackfriday i'll make my mind up by then.

625 is not bad, where did they give you that price?

Theres too many shills here. You know what happens, soon as I give out the info a rival store or hater calls Akai and complains. Sometimes these stores lose their account.

I have been dealing with different go to guys for years and have built a relationship with them. I get good to great discounts. This deal is a better one because I think my sales guy understands NAMM is around the corner. (buyers remorse). He probably knows the high return factor also.
