What I did see was the video that is going to be shown at NAMM 2016 by Roland announcing the new product and probably later on YouTube like they did with their AIRA line of products. Roland has a new 16 Pad sampler/workstation coming and the ACB modeling features I told you about is nothing compared to the other features they’re talking about for this new hardware. Anyone who’s impressed with their MPC’s, Maschines and Push 2’s are going to lose their minds when the NAMM presentation is made.

this insider guy is highly credible. he knew about the mpc touch a month or so before its announcement.

If this is true the MV-8000/8800 has audio tracks so chances are there knew unit will too! hopefully better implemented. My biggest problem with the MV is that it's only 16bit and slow. Other than that the MV is solid.

yeah maybe not VGA... and maybe not ps2 for the mouse.... hopefully USB 3 (or at least 2) ... hopefully like 4gb of sample ram minimum (dedicated to samples, not for samples AND other shit) .....


but it would be nice to have better quality faders, or don't put them in at all.

Roland's history is amazing, I was just thinking about that blood clot TR 808.

and +1 on the vga- what the heck is that ? do they still make vga monitors nowadays ?

we dont know yet...... however a vague thing like a new 16 pad machine could mean anything..... a new mv, or even a new SP which a few had a 4x4 layout. Roland is a cool company, they always have great stuff with a lot of features.... but they need to hire a chief of streamlining for their products.. or a workflow chief.

look at the mv-8000 and mv-8800... and you'd understand this is a photoshopped thing just like all the other theoretical mv-9000 pictures

Roland discontinued the mv series for a reason

and if u look at the success they have had with the sp range it seems more likely that the new offering would lean towards the mid to low end of the market.

Also consider the recent roland boutique range which all simulated older synths but in a miniature package.

but hopefully roland pick up where they left off with the sp606 which was maschine before maschine as well as being standalone.

if they can combine the build quality of the mv in a smaller package and have the standalone and computer connectivity shit will be a beast.

and the acb is a very exciting aspect

You can use any monitor with the MV and not just a VGA monitor. I got my ACER 23" LED monitor hooked up via VGA to DVI cord.

wrong. no joke at all. the specs are from the fa-06/08´s internal sampler, which is cool except for the lack of time stretch, bpm detect and multisample edit. there´s one dedicated sampler track within the fa´s 16-track sequencer. you can stream 4 stereo or 8 mono samples from the sd card simultaneously. btw, no latency whatsover. the new groovebox will perform way better in these regards, that´s for sure.

gee, i´m so glad that roland – as one of the big three (japanese) manufacturers – is finally back in the game. the os will be stable as a rock. pete goodliffe is a good programmer, but to have only one guy for maintenance and debugging won´t do the job properly imo. roland´s team is way bigger and therefore their machines are more reliable imo. i really hope they implement fantom g´s super-easy phrase list into the new box. i´d buy it in a second.

first ableton with push 2 and now roland... boy, akai has to put more weight behind its flagship mpc efforts. they should set a target shipment date of early 2016 for the standalone machine w/windows embedded imo. but my guess is they´re all hiding in the panic room of the cumberland headquarters right now.
