Loop Problem
The situation: I’m trying to record a sequence with a guitar loop on Track 1 and the drums on Track 2. I’ve set both to 78.6 bpm so that they’re playing together in time. Here’s a step-by-step process of what I’ve been doing, with the following MAIN SCREEN settings for both Tracks:
Loop – OFF
Timing – 1/16
Bars – 2
1.) I start out by pressing REC + PLAY to get the recording rolling on Track 1and time the guitar loop playback in time with the Now: field’s start. As soon as the Now: field passes 03.00.01, I hit STOP.
2.) For Track 2, I press OVER DUB + PLAY and time the drum break playback so that it starts right at 01.00.00. As with the guitar loop, as soon as the Now: field reaches past 03.00.01, I hit STOP.
3.) I then press ERASE, and for each Track select ALL EXCEPT in the Erase: field, then for the Time: field punch in 01.00.00 – 02.00.00. Finally I press DO IT.
When I go back to the main screen, I turn the LOOP: field to ON for both tracks and press PLAY START. Upon doing so things go something like this:
Initial 2 bar loop (01.00.00 - 02.00.00) the drums and guitar play out perfectly.
When the Now: field reached the end of the two bar loop, it rolls back to 01.00.00 (as you would expect) but this time the guitar loop continues to play but only the very first kick of the drum break plays (cutting off somewhere around 01.00.09 or so). The remained of the 2-bar sequence is just the guitar loop and when it rolls over to repeat, I have the same problem: guitar for the entire 2 bars but only the initial kick of the drum break. Left to play out, this weird pattern just keeps going. I have no idea what’s going on…anybody have any thoughts.
Thanks
