Everything works ok, but when I close the MPC software and reopen it the MPC hardware doesn't recognize it. I have to keep turning it off, then on.

Just trying to find out if this is a bug or normal....... about to send it back.

In my opinion it is not a bug. I only have the Ren, but it is the same behavior. Always turn on the hardware first. Wait 5 seconds. Open the software.

I have the MAC Pro 1.5, are you using a macbook ?

Ok, so you can close the software and reopen with without rebooting the hardware. I tried calling the Akai support and he said he's trying it out on his end.

Yes, I'm on Yosemite. iMac retina a few months old.

I never had to reboot the Touch, I often close the software and leave the display powered, sometimes I forget its on because I have used it both in enabling the desktop extender and disabling it. Disabling it makes the screen power off when the software is not running.

Akai says it maybe a driver issue, running OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 and this is the problem. Everything runs perfect, so I either deal with this until akai gives an update or return it for a refund. :hmmm:

Im going to stick it out for a while.

Im waiting for Akai to tell me what version of the Display link drivers they have. There is a new driver on Display links website that addresses a few issues.

Heres an option, if you paid full price, return it and wait to see what gets released next year.

I like the Touch myself though.

It works fine for me on OS X 10.11.1, I would say try re-downloading the drivers and reinstalling everything, that's what I had to do on my Windows 7 computer. I know they said it Windows 7 is not supported but it works just fine for me on both Windows 7 and OS X 10.11.1

Let me explain myself more clearly, when I turn the hardware (MPC Touch) on then the software, everything runs fine.

Now leaving the hardware (MPC Touch) on, saving my projects, closing the MPC Software, then re-opening the MPC Software. The hardware (MPC Software doesn't come back on unless I turn off the (MPC Touch Hardware) then back on, lauch the MPC Software everything come back on fine.

This never happened with my MPC Renaissance.

With all this being said........ I've notice in the Preferences - Hardware - Show Hardware Info Tab, in says in the Driver Version: <unknown>, this is where Akai Tech says it maybe a problem with the OXS 10.11.1 A driver conflict. Do anybody have the ( Driver Version: <unknown> ) in the Preferences - Hardware - Show Hardware Info Tab ?

Dustymaestro, if you suspect there's a driver issue and it's causing problems for you I would consider returning the Touch while you can, and then re-purchase when/if they confirm it's fixed.

I don't know if your mistaking Dustymaestro for me, but you think I should return it. I feel Akai should've note that there is a issue on the MPC Touch and OXS 10.11.1. It's a UPDATE for the Rennisance & Studio, I don't believe Akai release a new product with the update for 10.11.1, especialty since EL Capitan been out before it release of thr MPC Touch.

In a way I want to wait it out, but will be so pissed if the new update won't fix the problem.

Note: I see why in the noterepeat installation video was done on a windows system, I feel Akai knew then there was a problem with Mac 10.11.1 OSX. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qP8-6ff_4FM

No, the first part of my post was for you, the second part was for Dustymaestro. But that said, the advice still stands for you. IMO never hold on to a faulty/buggy product in the hope that the manufacturer will eventually release a fix for it, because sometimes those fixes never materialise and you are left with a faulty product that can no longer be returned.

So yes, if you are still unable to resolve your problem after trying all the potential fixes Akai recommend, I would return it and move on until they announce it is fixed, at which point you could re-purchase, probably for a lower retail price (MPCs tend to drop in price a few months after initial release).
