Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

I've had the Touch since Thanksgiving week and I'm still loving the workflow and still learning the workflow. When I chop I still find myself using the Q-links and haven't yet embraced the touchscreen for chopping, maybe just out of force of habit, but I was wondering are other Touch users using the touchscreen more or the Q-links when chopping samples?

Right now I'm using the Touch. Lazy Chop directly on the screen and refine the start points by the screen cursor or by fine edit with the qlink.

If I really want to I can do the fine edit just by using the start end point on the screen, but it's a old habit from using the studio.

I have one issue is there no indicator on the touch itself on what the qlink does? Do you have to refer to the pc screen to see the attribute?

Yes it has an indicator, when you're on bank one of the Q-links then you'll see a red box around the start field and the 4 Q-links controls the start times (1000X, 100X, 10X, 1X), on bank 2 there'd box will be over the end field (1000X, 100X, 10X, 1X), and so on.

I think my problem is that I'm too comfortable with the Q-links that I'm not taking advantage of the control that The touchscreen affords me.

Cool, I will look at that when I get off work.

I gave you some incorrect information, my bad, the MPC Touch does not give you indicators like I said earlier but the only indicator is the red led below the Q-link bank button. If the first led is light then the Q-links control the start of the sample, if the 2nd led is light then the Q-links control the end of the sample, and so on. So really you can tell what you are controlling without looking at your computer monitor.
