recording issuess

I just got my 2500 and I am chopping samples. I am having no problems chopping samples but I am having an issue on playback. I recorded my snare and kick on tracks 1 and 2 no problem. But when I record my hi hat on track three I cant hear the kick drum that I recorded. I don't understand when I am recording the high hat I can't hear the kick. Then after I am done recording and listen to playback I can hear the kick again. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Maybe something with the mono/poly settings?

That's polyphony fighting against your hi hats in poly mode. You are wasting precious voices on smth you are not even able to hear Make hats and kick drum monophonic. Read about voice overlap in manual.
