Mpc software on windows performance

What up fellow beatsmiths!

I use a mac but im curious how does the mpc hardware/software perform on windows 8 and 10. Is there a noticeable latency between when a pad is struck on the hardware and when it triggers in the software? I know windows used to have latency with audio/midi in the past. Is that still the case? If so doesn't that ruin the Mpc experience ?

Also since windows 8 and 10 are touch screen capable, does that mean you can interact with and "play" the Mpc software right from the screen?

Curious to hear anybody's experience with Windows and mpc as I am considering getting away from Apple when its time for a new laptop but audio/midi latency would be an absolute deal breaker for me

Any input would be appreciated

I can't speak about the touchscreen because I have windows 7 and not windows 8, but it works very well for me on windows 7 as well as Mac OS X 10.11.1
I've owned both the MPC 2000XL and the MPC 4000 in the past and I feel no difference. I currently use the MPC Touch on my windows 7 computer and the Renaissance on my Mac computer and the both respond quite well.

That's good testimony since you have used em all.

No I don't hear or feel a difference between Mac or Windows, I've owned the Ren for 3 years and the responsiveness has always felt like a MPC to me. I usually set my buffer at 256 but even when I set it to 512 I still can't detect any latency or delay in the responsiveness of the Ren or the Touch. You can set the Ren's latency as low as 64 samples which is about 1.5 ms, I believe that the MPC 2000XL had an internal latency of 83 samples, I may be incorrect but I believe that I read that somewhere before, so you shouldn't have any problems. And keep in mind that people are doing live sets and battles using the Ren so that should be encouraging to you.

Same here.
I have win10 in my desktop (I had hackintosh on it but decided to go full windows). And have a macbook pro retina and don't see any differences. Of course I am using an external audio interface. I don't notice any differences.
I feel like there are some apps I use a lot in mac for audio like soundflower, and the windows world solution is a little more complicated but appart of that (and I was a only mac for audio guy) there is no real differences. Is that so, that the next laptop I'll buy won't be a mac for sure. With the money I spent on the mbpr I can buy a more feature powerfull windows laptop and some hardware or something.

I haven't used AU plugins too many times because I don't have logic but the few times that I did use them I didn't notice a difference.

It works perfectly for me, that's not to say that it will work that way with everyone with Windows 7 but I purchased it knowing that I have a Mac computer too just incase it didn't work on Windows 7. I suppose the only reason they didn't include Windows 7 as a supported operating system is probably because none of the tech support guys have a Windows 7 computer to test/troubleshoot with.

How old are you? Why would anyone come here to lie to your dumb ass. I have win 7 works well no issues. Just not "officially" supported which mean I can't ask Akai for help if things go wrong.
