Totally silent metronome on an MPC 60 II

Hi guys.

Just got a great deal on a 2nd hand MPC 60 II. Received it today.
The seller said in the listing that the metronome is very quiet, but in fact it's totally silent.
The seller hasn't replied to my queries yet (uh-oh...)

Does anyone know if that can be fixed? The seller said earlier it'd take some recapping. Clueless regarding that, but I can solder and desolder for sure.

Janne, i think you had the right idea of using a progrma with a hi hat sound instead... just thought that you could always sample the metronome from ableton live.... or, if you midi sync live with the mp, you should be able to use the metronome from live would be my guess... hope you have found a fix for this

Pop it open and take a look - likely just a bad cable or maybe a connection or jack that needs a little deoxit. Look for bad solder joints on the board or swollen / leaky capacitors.

No, I don't.
The seller said he'll send me the required cap once he's back from holidays.

Been using the hihat channel for now; works well TBH.

okay nice... yeah maybe take a peek in the service manual to see what is what... there might be some insight in there
