Hi, my fellow chef's

When editing in grid mode I decided to expand from 4 bars to 8 bars. Now that I have my 8 bars how do I copy the first 4 bars (1-4) to the new bars (5-8)..?? I've been reading the manual but can't find it.. It would be unforgivable if Akai didn't implement such a feature..

Good question..

The old way I would just get into the habit of making a new sequence with the event editor. Basically copy and paste to another sequence. I still do that on the Touch.

If theres a new "one button: approach, please somebody else speak up.

One of the recent videos showed a quick way of doubling your pattern. Maybe the 1.9 new features vid?

Yep.

The new update allows you to just select:

1) Edit
2) Sequence
3)Double Length

Voila! Now your sequence and all notes has doubled in length. You also have the option to half the length too.

It's these subtle changes that have made this thing flow so much smoother than before.

That is also possible but to do that you would have to:-

1) Go to sequence edit
2) Select option 3 'Copy Bars'
3) Here you can select what sequence you wish to copy bars from and which bars you wish to copy and where. You could even extract a number of bars and put into a fresh sequence
4) You have the option of replacing or merging this sequence.

It can be a bit tricky to get this right so I tend to use this option very little btu it is there to do what you want and need.

I would still like to demand the copy and paste function.. Its 2015, we've waited so long for the touch screen. And now there's no copy and paste..!!
I don't think it would be that hard to implement such a feature. They can make it as follows:

1) select the notes
2) a new icon apears (copy)
3) tap the new Icon and the new icon changes (paste)
4) tap it and voila..

In sequence edit I think it is the last option, event edit.

Using 1.9

Hope I'm telling you right as I am not at the Touch right now.

Thanks I've found it.. Is there a way to quickly delete selected notes? Lets say I copy Track 1 to Track 2 and I want to take some stuf out of track 2. Can I just select a range of notes and delete them?

What am I missing? The Touch has no Window button so now do I access the copy or a track or sequence to a new track or sequence. I see nothing but I'm sure the function is somewhere..?

Oh ok, it is hidden under sequence, not the place I would have looked for track copy initially, especially when there is a track edit page that is pretty bare as well. Wonder why they chose that layout. Now if I can find some work around for no forward and back bar buttons, jumping to or locating is pretty important for me. I'll keep playing and learning,.
