You could also make a keygroup using the 808, make it monophonic, and adjust the portamento to set how fast or slow it slides. I think this would give you the best results and is the most convenient/flexible.

You can use that double time tempo on any sequencer.

You can also adjust the MPC click or any sequencer click to 1/4 notes when using double time.

No, use the MPC as the sequencer. You need 2 MIDI cables and a basic understanding of the MPC. You can record the pattern live, use note repeat or use step edit to punch in each individual note.

This is correct. I do this all the time - 808 Keygroup + monophonic + portamento = 808 slides
P.S. - most of the functions inside the MPC 4000 are the same or similar to the way DAW samplers work, so... if you can figure out how people use Logic, Pro Tools, FL, etc. to accomplish certain techniques (try YouTube) - then it is most likely translatable to the MPC 4000.
