The original LCD Screen has very low contrast and its backlight is made of electrolumiscent foil which needs an high frequency inverter which leads to high pitched beep tone when the machine is on.
Furthermore the El foil gets old and needs to be replaced sometimes.

one Half of the Display is a 3D printed part. I can do it a little bit cleaner than I did it on mine, especially letters (mpc3000). This thing can be screwed on the white plastic backing of the display (where you touch when you change the angle of the display...) then it is more or less plug and play.

For now it is only a green colored backlight. Off course there might be a possiblity for other colors but i dont want to put too much time into that now. I took me a lot of time to get the display working because i didnt have enough know how in the beginning )

I can make another one and see how long it takes me to build it then i can make the price.
I think it is around 150 Euro.
just write me a pm.

regards

Interesting Change!!

I´m Interested :) Would buy one!!

Do i need to modify any parts of the MPC except the Display itself? (e.g. soldering, crimping, etc.)

Cool. Then i will order some connectors and stuff, because i used just the ones from the original display.
No actually you just have to deconnect the inverter board from the main board ( two wire connector ) and put the backlightcable of the display on that connector instead.

Very interested in this for my VX-600. Can you post some more pics and info regarding physical dimensions, installation procedure and parts used? Thanks!
