opinion on MPC60 selling price

Wassup fellas. I'm probably going to be selling my mpc60 II to help raise cash for an sp1200. It's in good condition (backlight out though), but I'm going to be selling it with an external scsi card reader with two sandisk cards. Also, it has a scsi SSD installed in it. (the NDISK that JD was selling for a short time many years ago). I see These going for about $1200 on eBay without any extras. What's the real-world value of these?

With the SCSI + SSD in it, you could probably ask for close to 2K, seeing how the prices are on eBay.

i see the prices are at an all time high but are they selling? i guess i could list for what theyre asking for a basic version and see what happens. im waiting for a backlight replacement at the moment. once i install that, ill probably list it on ebay.

Good MPCs cost good money. Buy an MPC Touch.

On topic: I see an MPC60 with SCSI and all the upgrades (except for old original screen) on ricardo.ch (swiss auction site) for 2.000 bucks. Which is a very high price. 1.200 - 1.500 would be fair IMO (if it's mint).

Not mint but in very good condition for it's age with a (soon to be) brand new LED from Matt. With the internal HD and external CF reader I'd think $1,200.00 is reasonable

A 60 could be intersting

Have a 3000LE with CF and internal SSD. Modifications based on ARTMIX solutions

Nice!.. very convenient having that internal storage, isn't it? Can't wait to see what this new LED looks like in the 60.

i use the internal storage for compiled programs for their dedicated projects.

My CF cards are divided into 32MB partitions. Equal to the memory of the MPC. Mostly i use more then 16MB on the partitions for one program.

For example:
if i want to use a Snare from a program on a different partition as the current program or from a newly sampled Break, Loop, Noise etc. i would modify the current program. When i save the modified program on the current partition, i would overwrite it. Since my programs are bigger then 16MB, i cant save two programs on each partition. I want to keep each Program to its Partition.

The internal memory allows me to save more then one programs on one big partition. are So the whole library of samples is on the CF cards. From time to time new compiled programs getting a partition on a CF card.

I have a naming convention to my samples, too. That helps me to identify the samples easier, because of the lack of the preview function on a MPC3000.
