so my screen is SUPER dim... i changed the backlight on it yesterday, and nothing is different... after clicking the knob and changing the display setting... the only thing the knob does is make the screen go completely away... i have been told it could possibly be the volt inverter, but am not having much luck finding this... any help here would be great!

the screen on my s3000xl has been getting really dim recently.
i found this image for an inverter for the mpc2000 at mpc stuff.
so you're looking for something like that.

does the schematics for the s3000xl show the voltages? you'd want to check if the inverter was passing the right voltage.
i never have the guts to check voltages on gear running mains power. i take it to a tv/stereo repair shop and tell them what i want checked.
you could just get another inverter board and replace it and see if that works. might be cheaper than paying someone to do the testing.
