Hello everyone, I am French sorry if my English is not good ...

I explain, I finally finished a music that I like. The technique I use for now is:

mute all tracks except 1, record "main out" on the internal memory and then save the sample on the memory card of my MPC 2500.

It works but it's long and I must re all working on Ableton.

Here the material, for the moment nothing is plugged together

- 1 MPC 2500
- 1 Roland Jupiter-50
- 1 1402VLZ4 Mackie 14-channel
- 1 Stanton SMX-501
- 1 listening Akai AP-B20 Platinum
- RCA Cables
- Audio cables
- 1 USB cable to twelve o'clock
- 1 Mac book pro
- 2 m-audio speakers

The first goal is to simply record on my software Ableton, do you have any idea? Do i need soundcard ?

If you lack information tell me!

I looked in the manual but I admit that there is not the answer to my specific question

You will need a sound card or usb audio interface in your computer if you wish to record (track) audio into Ableton. You could record your MAIN OUT in the MPC25000 and import the WAV files into Ableton but how are you going to use Ableton without a soundcard?

Check out my book dedicated to using the MPC2500 with Ableton:

"how are you going to use Ableton without a soundcard? "

this is my question! :)

So, i do not have a choice? I have to necessarily buy a sound card? The sound card of a macbook pro is not enough?
As soon as I have money I buy your .pdf! ;)

Tristan Roger wrote:Perfect ! I need to understand how to plug mpc + mixer + soundcard + macbookpro... :) Thanks again !

The tracktor interface should plug directing into the Mac via USB, then go into your DAW and set incoming and outgoing audio to use the tracktor interface.

Interface outputs go to your sound system (amp) inputs, or if you prefer they can go into your mixer and the mixer output goes into your sound system.

MPC2500 audio outputs into interface inputs.

Just remember that the Traktor interface has no MIDI, so you'll not be able to MIDI sync your MPC with your DAW. Workaround is to manually align your recorded tracks once in the DAW environment, or get a separate MIDI interface, or just get a combined audio/MIDI interface. I cover the MIDI/non MIDI options in detail in my book

One more question. Without midi , this method is the same of this method ?

- record the main out, play stop, save one root of compact flash

So, if it's the same, you're right ! I have a lot of problems to scale all my samples in Ableton with warping
