Lazy chop and the other new features are cool, but none of them is more important than audio tracks.

What are you using now for audio tracks?

Reaper. It would be nice to not have to transfer everything into another software to lay vocal tracks, or synth module tracks.

True... Unless you chop it up and spread it across the track.

Not exactly the easiest solution. I don't think you can do that w/ Maschine, either. I suppose that's what exporting to your DAW is for.

It's a nice dream, tho. It would certainly give Live! a run for its money!!
It's not a dream... There's no good reason why the MPC software doesn't have audio tracks considering the power of todays computers. The MPC 5000 has audio tracks with limited resources smh.

Even the 1000 and 2500 have them with JJOS. It's time for audio tracks. The on the fly chopping is insane.

Personally I'm glad to see Akai polishing up on the strengths of their beat machines. I do not get the need for audio tracks. The damn thing has been turned into a vst! As they are fairly 'new' to the software for computers side of things I think the current addition of features feels like natural evolution which has enhanced my ren experience since I got it at 1.5. In that time there have been lost of tweaks to the audio engine and mixing structure in the software, clamping on audio tracks while also fine tuning the basic sound aspects in the most recent software would probably introduce new headaches. Now with the touch you def know these guys want to build strong so you never know what else they got up their sleeve!

I am with you on this. It's checked in the Preferences, but it doesn't work.

Would not be surprised if they announce 2.0 and new hardware at Namm.
