Golly. If only assigning the X/Y to Alchemy in Logic was actually, someway.... Somehow explained!!

I saw it, your right.

Interesting.

Will be a lot of people ticked off if they change the name. Have to believe that was a prototype name. Much like the mpc 3500 was I suppose. But interesting they'd let it sit in the video like that.

As they are fairly 'new' to the software for computers side of things I think the current addition of features feels like natural evolution which has enhanced my ren experience since I got it at 1.5. In that time there have been lost of tweaks to the audio engine and mixing structure in the software, clamping on audio tracks while also fine tuning the basic sound aspects in the most recent software would probably introduce new headaches. Now with the touch you def know these guys want to build strong so you never know what else they got up their sleeve!

it's a MPC as well as a DAW. Why would you not need audio tracks?

I believe focussing on core features and polishing them is a better approach. Audio tracks do not constitute a core Mpc experience in my opinion. Yes it is a daw to loosely put it.. I think it is a sequencer with sampling capability which all come under the DAW class nowadays. I watched propellerhead Reason grow from version 2 and it didn't introduce audio tracks until many years later. This sort of approach ensures that the developers had nailed all the midi sequencing, synths and sampling capability before adding audio. Even then audio came as a seperate program to begin with. I believe this has helped reason remain one of the most stable music software I have ever used. I hope Akai will carry on in this vein and then maybe audio tracks should come with new hardware which has been designed with audio implementation in mind. How do people intend to use audio tracks by the way? What am I missing?

I also don't care about audio tracks as long as I can record multiple inputs at the same time.

Audio tracks in the MPC existed before the MPC software came out. It needs to be added. The main reason you use another DAW is to record audio tracks.

I dont need actual audio tracks in my mpc...never did, doesn't really feel natural to the MPC environment. Never used it on my 2500 ever. I dont consider the MPC software a DAW by today's terms, like protools, logic, ableton, studio one, etc..and if they did implement audio tracks like those DAWS it won't be anything special, you can do more in those other softwares. A DAW is a DAW = digital audio workstation.....and MPC is an MPC = music production center, the last thing we need is Akai to take their focus off improving actual MPC features, theres plenty of DAWS and everyone has them so whats wrong? MPCs are designed anyways to track out to a real "DAW" Combing a DAW with an MPC would be too much, mpc is supposed to be simple, fast, and streamlined towards creating beats/grooves/midi compositions etc..

If they can implement audio tracks thats great but I dont think its a priority, the product is intended that way, they figure if you want to record vocal, guitar, or whatever along with your mpc compositions, that you will just bring it into pro tools or something else way more capable of processing audio tracks.

Way more capable?!?! Dude the MPC 5000 and the Roland MV has audio tracks lol. If those production centers can handle audio tracks the MPC software can most certainly handle any audio tracks you want to record lol. Audio tracks in the MPC software = no more headaches transferring mpc projects into another DAW to finish a song, but you still can if you want to. Who will implement audio tracks first? Akai MPC? or NI Maschine? Adding audio tracks is a major move forward! Being able to complete an entire song in the MPC software is more important than a lot of these new features. Also being able to do a complete song with the MPC software would be more appealing to new buyers on a budget. If I had a choice between being able to record an entire song in the MPC software vs lazy chop I'm sorry! but I would choose the ability to record a entire song in the MPC. jmo. Even though lazy chop is great feature lol.

Ok have you ever used Audio tracks as in the MPC 5000 or The MV? I have, and they sucked. I rather use protools, logic, abletpn, or something way more capable, YES! As for headaches I think you just need an Advil, nothing complex about tracking out your beats,

You didn't get it lol. I was saying THE MPC SOFTWARE WITH AUDIO TRACKS WOULD BE MORE CAPABLE THAN THE MPC 5000 OR THE MV, AND JUST AS CAPABLE AS THE DAW's YOU MENTIONED WHEN IT COMES TO BASIC AUDIO TRACK RECORDING AND EDITING! Did you get that? lol. You want to deal with two DAW's I want to deal with one. THE MPC!

Then you need to go buy Ableton and Push because thats not what the MPC is about, and I get you, I just dont get why you have an mpc if it doesn't meet your requirements. I dont believe theres any talks of them adding audio tracks to the software

The MPC is a midi sequencer, sampler, audio editor. It was never intended to act like a multitrack recorder

Youre funny if you think they are adding audio tracks, if they do I'll be mad they wasted resources on it

Wrong that what it was, and should be lol. You just want the MPC to be nothing more that a plugin for your DAW

or a plugin lol. It has already been a recorder.
