hey forum!

I decided that I can t take my mpc 60 on the road anymore and want to use my mpc1000 for live gigs.
I read in the internet there is no problem using snd.files etc. with the mpc1000 (free JJ OS 3.16 at the moment)
but it keeps on telling me "wrong file format" when I transfer them from my mac.
any clue?

I think JJOS dropped support for MPC's .snd file format for samples.
If that is the case, you will have to save or convert your .snd files as .wav files.

It was advertised at initial stage on Akai OS that it reads SND.. I think I tried already during JJOS era with different attributes but none of them worked. You have to batch convert them to .WAV, good thing is you DON'T need to force them to 44100.. they just have to be 16-BIT PCM WAV.
As programs go it should read "sample to pad assigment", I wouldn't expect any more..
and for sequences it might be better to save as MID on 60, load on 1000 as MID, save as SEQ, and only notes will survive without being scrambled.

all programs I found seemed to be windows based.

Try SoundConverter for Mac. And it's now Freeware!
