Interesting to see the price on the new Studio, as the old model is currently £250 in the UK, but was £399 when first released. Now with improved pads, looks and knobs, I would have thought it would shoot back to £399 as a 'new product'.

£100 more (or much less, my Touch cost £440 from Juno Records) and you get the touch screen and audio interface - MPC Touch seems like a no brainer. Wonder if the new studio comes with the new 20GB sound library?

I agree on all your points. Regarding the 20GB sound, the ad says "Includes MPC Software and thousands of sounds from all genres"

So maybe there are even more new sounds?

That Studio looks slick, i wonder if later on we can get that faceplate, data dial, qlinks and buttons from mpcstuff and install on the old Studio!

It looks as if the guts are still the same, just a swap job for the faceplate and knobs. I say that because the new fancy pad colors from the MPC Touch are not in the pic.

I know this is probably the last thing people want to hear right now, given the big leap in features and such in 2.0.. But I honestly can't help but wonder if we will be able to scan Waves plugins in 2.0 without having to do the 1.6 thing.

Same here... But has anyone confirmed what exactly they mean by this? Assume it's dragging from the MPC to the DAW, but does that mean that the MPC will now function as a multi-timbral plugin? So, drag the midi from MPC software to the DAW host, press play in the DAW, and the midi notes trigger the MPC plugin?

I'm used to Akai's marketing, the way they say "drag and drop" could mean any type of "drag and drop", and not really be what folks are expecting it to be. So that's why I ask... Has anyone confirmed what they mean by this?

I would also be asking the same question about audio tracks. Hope it's exactly what people expected. This update could definiltey be awesome if both are what people expect.

Even if these new features isn't what we expect, clearly they're headed in the right direction.
