Just got my MPC2000XL..........need a lil help!!!

What up....

Just got my MPC yesterday. It's real user-friendly and all....but I need a lil help....

I ordered a set of sound floppy disks from the net and loaded up one of the "drum" sound disks (I loaded the whole program). The MPC loaded the drum sounds into all 4 banks (like Im assuming it's "supposed" to do)......but here's the issue......

How do I add a couple sounds from a DIFFERENT disk into the banks? My drum tracks are all done....but hell, how do I add the rest of the sounds I want??? Or are you supposed to load individual sounds instead of the whole program(???).....

I have a disk of guitar riffs and such.......but every time I load up that disk, it loads ALL the guitar sounds to ALL the banks.....

I almost figured it out on yesterday, but I didnt fully understand.

So my main question is....."How do you load sounds from different disks onto the MPC?".....I know that might be a stupid ?uestion...but like I said, I just got my MPC yesterday....

If you have some pads left over, and some sample time left, you can do it by inserting your disk and going to the disk menu and scroll past the PGM file and sift through the SND files. FInd the one you want, then Load it. THen go to the program screen and assign it to a pad that is empty or one with a sample you aren't using.

unassign the drums you are not using for your production and purge them.....once you do that you will have plenty o' room for your other samples......purging get rid of the sounds that are not assigned to a pad....press shift +6(program) and pick which sounds you want and don't want...rearrange them to your advantage and then purge....
