Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By Platesrecords Tue Jan 26, 2016 10:21 pm
Hi all, first time post here...

I am pretty new to the mpc but have recently lost whole projects from this error.

'Unexpected end of file'

This will happen repeatedly and i cannot loads the program files. I am not sure why but this keeps happening. I am also sometimes getting the screen turn into a bunch of numbers jumbled around when creating sequences sometimes. Is there anything i can do to get these beats back? The samples are still showing on the load screen but wont load...

Thanks in advance

Sounds like your zip disk or the drive is failing. If you have another zip drive, you'll be able to find out which one it is. But it might be a good idea to connect a usb zip drive tour your conputer and back up your files. You're much better off using a CF reader or an MO drive, depending which model MPC you own. Do you have the 2000 or the 2000xl?

Thanks man, I suspect it is the drive as it has happened with several disks. Thanks for the Advice, I will try and borrow or buy a usb zip disc, cheers. I have a 2000 xl. How difficult are these options to upgrade? And are they costly? Cheers, nick

The upgrade is easy and shouldn't cost much for a CF reader. You can install it internally with the IDE connection. Check out the following topic for more info.
