Question about live performance w/ 2k

i have been debating on trying to do a live performance with my mpc2000, here is what i have so far. i use the mpc as a controler for my s3200xl. everytime i start a new beat, sequence 1 is always the sequence i use to piece together the track. i then copy it to the different sequences and mute/unmute tracks that i want for each sequence. performing live i would just mute/unmute each track. my idea is to use the different sequences for each song. My question would be, how do i load the different "sequence 1" for each song into the mpc? since they are all sequence 1 anytime i load it, it loads into sequence 1 of course.... anyone have a work around on this?

sometimes with the 2000 classic the way i do it is...

everything on sequence 1, but each element is on it's own track (for example, beat A's drums on track 1, beat A's bass on track 5, beat A's verse sample on track 9, and beat A's chorus sample on track13. then the same thing for beat B but on tracks 2, 6, 10, and 14... then in the track mutes screen (open window on the track:ON) you can mute and unmute anything when ever you want...

so the only issue with this is.. each of those beats has to be the same BPM... unless you scroll the bpm up during the sequence... however you can set this up on several sequences too... which allows you to jump up the BPM. naming each track shows up on track mutes too...

anyways it's a reliable way to go... also some tracks may be playing samples from the s3200 through midi... so that works too.

this is exactly how i pictured doing this... only problem is... loading a sequence and program, the machine only holds one songs program at a time... or am i missing something? when i load a sequence and program of one of the songs, it wipes everything clear in memory... so how do you load up multiple programs/ sequences from songs as one full program?

upgrade to an xl or rethink your strategy.
i believe you can do anything you want with what you got and some clever planning, but also if you are dead set on doing it one way, you need the right tool for the job.

the real solution is 2 mpcs... load one thing, while something plays out on the other mpc. or quit **** around and get a laptop with tractor.

2 mpc's might not be a bad solution... both would midi to the s3200xl... so i could load midi info on each one...

yeah i dont know about that haha...
