mpc touch with macbook pro and hdmi display......

How can I get this to work..... I have the touch connected usb, my external monitor on hdmi.
I have mirroring turned off.
Every time I plug my external display in hdmi, the mpc screen just turns into a mirror of my desktop and says it cannot run the GUI while mirroring is on.

Is it not possible to use the touch with a macbook while also using an hdmi display to extend your desktop?


This would really suck....

I have no idea if this would help, but this is from the Touch manual:

"If you want to be able to use other apps on your computer as you are using the MPC Touch display, please do the following:

On your computer, open the System Preferences.

Select Mission Control.

Check Displays have separate Spaces.

Close the System Preferences."

I have a Macbook Pro, but I just use the built in screen. As dodgy as the display drivers are for the touch, it would not surprise me if it would not work... but I say try all options.

It works. I was able to set mine up, however I don't remember step-by-step how I did it. Try going to the "About this Mac" and click on the "Displays" tab. Click on "Displays Preferences". Uncheck the "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available". That might do the trick. Hope this help.
