what?

If I understand you right, you need like a MidiMan, if you don't want to use the game port on your soundcard. Or don't have MIDI capability on your sound card. You're still gonna need to hookup the audio cables to the IN's of your sound card though.

Midi interface? Yep. There are tons of USB MIDI interfaces available. From 1 in / 1 out ones to 8 in / out.

Ok. There should be gameport midi interfaces still available, I think. But why not USB?

USB-based ones cost between $40 and a whole lot more, depending on brand , number of ports and synchronization options.

As for gameport-based ones, I have no idea. If you have a music equipment store in your town you might ask there, if they still carry them.

the gameport ones suck. i would not get one. u will prob have mad latency, time it takes to press a key or pad and have the pc play the sound, which will make u want to throw ur pc out a window when doin music prodcution or recording. ur best bet is to go onto ebay and get a maudio delta series card. they are around $150 to $200, but it will make ur life a lot easier. but u will need a seperate midi device, say a midiman 1x1 which will run bout $35. The whole thing with midi and aduio is the asio drivers. if u dont have them, which many cheap soundcards dont, u will have latency. If u really want to intergrate the pc into ur rig ur gonna need one of the begineer pro audio cards, not the consumer crap like soundblaster.
