Moving Events in step mode

Hello guys,

I am trying to move specific events in the step mode but i cant seem to find a way.I know you can insert new events where you want em and then delete the previous ones but i am looking for a faster way.I am quite sure i was able to do that but i cant remember the way.( i am not trying to quantize notes on specific values i just want to be able to freely move notes a few ticks or a bar or etc)

I am on 2kxl

Ps. I tried searching for a similar thread but i only found one that wasn't clear enough about my issue.so please forgive me if my questing have been already answered.

This is a good question, I'm sure there's a way of doing it but I've not discovered it. I normally copy/paste etc and then delete the original note event... But would be cool to actually 'grab' the note and move it a few ticks...

you can do 'shift timing' - but that is non-destructive (you can always turn it off) and it will only work at values less than a tick.

barring that, copy/paste to a new track, clear the old one, and paste back.

Go to "Edit: COPY"

Lets' say, you have 4 bars in the sequence and you want to shift one tick backward in one track.
Copy 001:01:00 - 005:01:00 (copy all)
then specify:
Start 001:01:01

then "DO IT"

after this operation, the sequence become 5 bars. Change bar back to 4, it'll just truncate the last bar.
you are done.

If you want to just do that to specific note, copy the track you want to edit, then erase all except the note, shift the note, then copy back to the original track.
