Currently the nudging limit in the sequencer (at 960 ppqn) seems to be 10 (sometimes 9) ticks using the shift and drag method, and 4 ticks using arrow keys when TC=OFF (shift does nothing with the arrow keys).

I'm pretty sure in previous versions of the MPC Software we could hold down shift and drag an event around the GUI in 1 tick increments, ie. 1.02.103 moved to 1.02.104.

Anyone confirm this or am I going mad and we've always been limited like this? Or am I missing a shortcut key to bring it down to 1 tick? The list editor allows events to be entered in 1 tick increments no problem.

I agree, I don't think the human brain can actually differentiate at these resolutions, but I was more interested in finding out if this has changed from older MPC Software versions, as I was sure I could get 1 tick changes with 'shift and drag' in 1.4 for example.

Didn't want to have to drop back to 1.4 to test this though!

Even with tc on or off I can move the events with the shift button in a +4 ticks increments. Anyway, as stated before, I never need adjusting that fine. 10 ticks increments are enough for me. with the value set to 96 that is what you get +1(10ticks) incrments. Maybe before the 960 resolution was not active and what we saw was +1 increments but that was 10 ticks. I'm just guessing.

then we have to manually enter numeric values, why can't we nudge that way? Why is the sequencer only truly 960 ppqn when you're in the event editor list? Isn't that what nudge is for, to be able to move a midi event in the smallest increment possible? I remember in like 1.5-1.7 it used to be like 10 increments when you nudged no matter if the sequencer was in 96 or 960 mode. Recently got the touch with 1.9 and I see they got nudging down to 4 increments now after the updates but why not 1 increment?

i cant see that as being the case... that just looks like a "who is gonna notice" type of a thing... if you can move it 4 or 10 increments... that would be equally as intensive, no? The calculation on the processor end of things would probably require the same number of bits to achieve.
