I don't know why everyone is so excited to pay for an update that will have bug crashes and all the other issues it always has. I still deal with the same issues I've been dealing with since 1.0 and the one big feature is audio tracks which should have been in the sad excuse of a 1.8 or 1.9 update. unexcited for an update that will prob come in june of this year. 6 more months away. this better be 50 dollars or less.

LMAO  So angry and negative

I just hope we can drag and edit the audio and midi in song mode like most DAW's :worthy:

Personally I'm extremely dissatisfied with the idea that I have to put up even more $$$ for a 2.0 update.

I bought the Renaissance in 2012, used it till 2014 (1.1-1.7) and even then the software still just felt like some kind of beta so I sold it. Put the mpc software aside and said I'll come back when they start getting it right. The price of the Ren eventually drops to half it's original value as almost another 2 years pass and when they finally start getting the software right they drop this MPC Touch thats like a mystical dream mpc from the future and its only half the price of what the Ren was?? What the hell!?

So of course I picked up the touch recently, but I've already invested enough into this damn product, you have to be kidding me saying I have to pay for any update from this company. :Sigh: I'll be super angry if I have to pay for such a basic update. None of these updates, not even a gui color change and audio track feature, are worth any money when this all should have been included from the start. The price I paid for the Ren alone, not even the Touch should be enough to cover another basic ass akai update.

I don't mind the $99; I just don't want to get trapped to having to use W10 for mpc 2.0+

Yeah I pretty much feel this way too. Plugin has been a joke since the beginning. If I have to pay to get it, not cool. That feature has been so far behind what they advertised since 1.0 that it's a shame. Anything other than a free update to include that functionality is :hmmm: then :Sigh: then :fku:

They have to charge for a full incremented update version, that goes without saying, but the only thing that we can hope for is that it is no more than $99 and maybe a discount for MPC Touch owners maybe $49.99, that's what I expect.

They don't HAVE to. Indeed, for a product that's only available when you plunk down a minimum of $400, software updates should be gratis. Even X.0 versions. It's not like it has any use to non-hardware customers.

Well... every major update has a price tag. This isn't FL Studio. They should have something for current customers... like some sort of discount code.

But as a customer we have to know when to jump on a product. I first saw the Ren and got excited, but then I was like... let me wait a bit, watch some tutorials, youtube vids etc. It helped that I didn't have money, but when the Maschine Studio came out I did the same and bought it after days of researching. The Touch looks nice, but you know the flag ship is just around the corner

"Major update"-lol ...theres nothing major about 2.0, just more basic stuff the software should have had from way in the beginning.

And what flagship are yo talking about? The Renaissance and now the Touch are both the flagship Mpcs of the software. Dan wouldn't answer if their would be another controller for the mpc software probably bc there won't be. He did state that the Touch though is not the last MPC, which leads me to believe the next "flagship" will be more or less a hardware mpc but we aren't seeing that for a while.

I don't mind a reasonable charge for a major update. However, Akai should be offering the 2.0 update free of charge, or at a discount, for those who have purchased the MPC Touch.

Agree. I just pulled the trigger and bought a Touch. Really nice. Would still rather have a standalone though.

Agree with this too. What they've talked about so far, 2.0 doesn't seem very major to me either. But nice improvements though.

So what would make it a major update?
