No, it's not required because the original glue is like silastic and can be easily removed.
You just need a sharp blade to cut it along the plastic walls like on the picture.

i ordered a exacto knife (arts and craft so i am ready), just wanted to ask , what cd/dvd did you install as my is kaputt and does the digital audio out/anlogue out work with it when sampling?

I've used an old DVD burner from an old PC as I remember.
thanks to the pictures it's a NEC 16x DVD burner model ND-3500A.


about the led backlight PCBs they have been manufactured and I'm talking to my PCBs subcontractor if we do an automated mounting of the components or not...
