2000xl without startup disk

do anyone know how to get the mpc2000xl to start without putting the disk i have the disk i just don't want to put it everytime i start my mpc i know this can be done becouse i did it years ago and haven't use the disk since i also had my mpc setup to where it would startup with my fav tempo, bars, timing can anyone tell me how to get that back its be years since i had to do this thank you

the 2000xl by default doesn't need a startup disk. what exactly is happening?

to have programs / sequences autoloaded, save an aps and an all file in the root directory of your media (hopefully a floppy or flash card)

my mpc was freezing up so i used the boot disk to reset it now its not freezing anymore but before i did that i had it setup where when i started it. it didn't need a boot disk and my bars was set to 8 tempo 150 and timing off and thats how it always came on for years cause i set it up like that but i don't remember how i did it. i haven't loaded disk or save anything on my mpc in like 5 years i use it to sequence. i use battery 3 for drums and vsts for instrumets then i record the midi in to sonar x2 and save it there if i use my keyborads i record the audio one by one and and save the midi in sonar the only addon i have on the mpc is the memory

you set that up via one of the mpc setup screens. like shift other or something - i cant remember exactly but it is for sure in the manual.

Read page 38 and 39 of the MPC2000 Software Version 1.5 Addendum.

- Format the F-ROM.
- Change the Type: field in the save screen to "Copy Operating System".
- Choose F-ROM as the destination.
- It copies the OS files from the floppy to the F-ROM.

You then use the F-ROM like any other disk, select F-ROM as the Device: when you want to save/load.
