Problem with and without the NV slider.

Ever since I've got my MPC2000XL the NV slider was broken, which is no problem for me since I don't need it.
But..... when in TRIM mode chopping up samples, whenever I hit the SHIFT + left button to make the chopping easier, it automatically jumps to the start of the sample. (Very annoying)

After doing the PAD-check test concerning the slider, I found out that the slider was unstable and automatically jumping between 3 and 4, thus creating this problem for me in TRIM mode.

Today I decided to remove the slider all together, and so I did. But even without the slider installed it keeps jumping between 3 & 4.... I also redid the soldering on the jogwheel just in case but no luck there. (working perfectly) Thought this was really weird, and was hoping someone here has an answer for me!?

What should I do to get rid of this? Is the only option to install a new one or...?

The proper way / right way to solve the issue is get the slider pot and install it. If you don’t want it, you should at least solder 10K resister (other value will work too for this case) instead, so the circuit is not open anymore.
The reason way it is happening is that, by removing the slider pot, you created open circuit (therefore there is no fixed resistance), precisely why you are still having the same issue.
I’d recommend you installing a new slider, since you seem to know how to solder. Your XL will look better after all.

Can I install any 60mm slider with 10K Ohm? Found this one, looks the same.. size, resistance and also 10KBX2..
