Pad sensors only work when faceplate is removed???

So basically the pads work great, but when I put the faceplate on, they all become completely unresponsive. As soon as I pull off the faceplate even just a little bit, they go right back to working great.

Even if I take off the rubber pads and then put on the faceplate, something about the faceplate is turning off the sensors somehow.

I have no idea what the heck is going on rn. Has anyone ever heard of this sort of problem? Its downright bizarre... Thanks for any ideas, comments, etc.

check the ribbon for the sensors.. make sure the pathway for that ribbon is clear and not somehow being squished or something... it sounds like it's being sandwiched somewhere

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried several things, and what ended up working was unseating the ribbon cable and trimming the end off so it was shorter. Now it works fine.

okay great... yeah so maybe that took away a bit of slack or something..
