Yo, yo. Peace to the beat makers out there, keep it tight. So, I'm thinking of getting an Akai Touch and an Akai MPC 3000 or Renaissance. Is that redundant? Also, I would like an opinion on a DAW to accompany my set up. I also looked at the Yamaha EX5 to couple with either aforementioned MPC units. I've been inspired to build my studio and do it right. I hope I can get some feedback on this set up idea, please help!!
-Peace

Yeah it may be redundant, guess it depends on exactly why you think you need both. I definitely think the Touch & Ren are redundant, again unless there's something you have a need for that I don't know about. The Touch is pretty much all you need.

And as far as DAWs, almost all of them have 30-day unlimited trials. I would say try as many as you can & pick the one you get on with the best. I have copies of pretty much all of them (I do a lot of collaborative work, helps me to have different DAWs), and there are minor differences of course, But it all comes down to what you prefer.
