Hey guys,

I'm running Vailixi OS 3.5 and I noticed that the lowest midi note I can use in the MPC 3000 sequencer is 35 which is B0. It would be very useful to go lower for subbass (not all synth have octave transposition)

Basically this is the only problem I have with my the 3000 otherwise it's perfect for me.

Could someone confirm the same behaviour either if you have stock OS or maybe a later version of Vailixi (if such exists)

I tried the following:
- Checked pad-to-midi assignments: 35 is the lowest note value you can assign
- I transposed an external midi keyboard and pressed notes in the lower register: nothing below B0 get's recorded to the sequence or forwarded to external synth

Seems like a simple software limitation and I would be pretty surprised if it was just overlooked.

Thanks.

As soon as I posted the topic I finally figured out the answer thanks to a hint here

Answer:
You have to change your track to MIDI and you can record or transmit notes as low as 0
You should use MIDI tracks to access the full note range.

Makes sense. I thought the difference between DRUM and MIDI tracks was just the triggering of internal drum sounds and also being able to use the pads to send MIDI but this proved me wrong.

There's always something to learn so I leave this here for reference
