Question about some weird behavior using my Nord Stage 2 w MPC Renaissance via USB out.
The Nord is a little confusing setup if you haven't used it. Basically, it's got 2 panels. Each panel contains one organ, one piano, and one synth. It can be set up as a 6 part multi-timbral instrument, (2 each of piano, organ, and synth) but the fx section can only be accessed by each panel. (2 total fx); It also doesn't respond to pan.
All that to say, I'm wondering why, when I'm playing MIDI sequences into the MPC, when they play back, the Nord gets this weird, metallic sounding reverb when it plays.
In fact, the whole piano sound is different, almost like some GM piano is playing some place, but it is the Nord. To get it to stop, I usually have to shut down the MPC and reboot the Nord.
I disable all the fx from the Nord, so there it should be a 100 percent dry signal. And it's not even like a real reverb, more like a really slow decay, like a sustain pedal, almost, but not quite that either.
FWIW, the Nord doesn't do this when I'm using it w Logic, only w the MPC software.
Any ideas? (BTW, it's been doing it since 1.6, and I'm now on 1.92)
