MPC Plugin MIDI Out

This is my first ever MPC (Touch) , which is probably why I'm a little confused about how this works exactly.

I'm messing around with using the MPC plugin in Cubase Pro 8.5.

So I'd use a few tracks, containing MIDI programs, from Touch to trigger different instrument tracks in Cubase. My problem is that I can't seem to channelize the MIDI. When I set the channel to/from each target track, the Cubase tracks will still play any and all output from Touch.

Is this a known limitation with either program, or am I missing something?

Not sure what you mean by channelize, but if you're asking does the MPC software send MIDI data to your DAW as a plug-in -- the answer is no, AFAIK. I have seen this work in Pro-Tools, but I use Logic generally, and got fed up with the Pro-Tools software subscription charges.

You can export the MIDI, then load it in your DAW, but then you'd have to do that over again everytime you made changes in MPC.

Hey thanks for replying. Let me try to clear up my question.

I'm able to actually send MIDI data from the MPC plugin and record or monitor it in cubase. What I can't figure, when sending from multiple MPC tracks (let's say it's 3 trks with 3 MIDI programs assigned to MIDI chs 1 - 3), is how to get the data to the corresponding tracks in Cubase, separately by channel.

What's happening now is each of the 3 tracks in cubase receive all 3 midi channels from MPC, even though I matched channels in both programs.

Sorry, bout so far MPC Software isn't multitimbral. It'll play back anything you feed into it. Just stereo return, if you don't use seperate (virtual) outs for seperate programs.
