You can sequence external synths from inside a Daw but it only allows you 16 midi channels, I can do it in Reaper but I don't know the procedure for other Daws. You basically have the MPC on a track in your Daw then you send midi from that track to another track and on that 2nd track you set that to send to your external synth, effectively you can send one midi channel to 16 different external synth if you have the physical midi ports to support this.

The top change I would like to see is the ability to be able to insert the MPC into a Channel in my DAW as an FX. This way you can sample into the MPC.
I use Cubase 8.5 and as it stands the MPC can only be used as a VST and not an FX. When used as a VST you cannot sample into the MPC because it has no Audio inputs. (You can use the standalone version do whatever work you want then close, open your DAW , open the MPC as a VST in your DAW then start to finish your work! Thats a long work around!) If an FX version was made (The same way Native Instruments has done with Maschine) you would be able to sample from your turntable or whatever other source you would like while the MPC is opened in your DAW.
Can we get this done!

2. better compatibility with mpc 4000
3. audio trcks
4. side chain compression
5. auto sync samples tempo when using in a sequence

Some sort of "Humanize"-Function would be nice. Compared to a standard DAW-MIDI-Editor the MPC Software is still surprisingly inflexible. The famous MPC Swing is not everything

Humanizing velocity / timing bias etc. per one-click would be awesome.

This is what I do if I want to Humanize. 2 clicks is not too bad
1. Turn off quantize or lower the strength
2. Turn off full level velocity


Looking forward to those audio tracks especially on my Ren.

ability to edit mpc 60/3k programmes , edit samples, then resave in the same format so i can open back up in the 60/3k........


it can open these programmes so i cant see why they cant save back to the same file format+snd......

I want it to just make the beat for me. No effort. Just turn it on input the samples and have it create the beat for me.

I haven't used cubase since 2002 so I don't know if there is a clever way to get this to work but as a workaround couldn't you just record your turntable onto an audio track and just drag that file into the MPC? You might even give Reaper a try because it does this with no problem.

5) Drum Program & Keygroup Program layout with Multi-programs (this is in the Akai S-2000's and newer) (also in the MPC-4000 and MPC-5000)

Though there maybe lots of VST programs, the multi-sampled instruments I made for myself had better sounding samples and much more control over the pitch, tambre, and much more
