Hi MPC heads

I'm experiencing latency when recording audio from my Roland JD-XI into my MPC 1000. The MPC 1000 is set to slave in clock mode. When I press REC on the MPC and then play the sequence on the JD-XI the recording starts fine, but the audio comes in slightly early. This makes the recording cut out the click from the kick. You can see and example in the screenshots I posted.

As you can the the cursor is at 002.01.00, but the peak of the waveform (the click from the kick) is right before that.

I've tried setting my MPC as master but then the sound gets delayed.

I have no idea what's going on so was hoping you guys could help me troubleshoot!

That doesn't make sense for latency
Latency is when your computer has to process audio, it's slow if there is too much going on
But midi has a real short response time, that only should be apparent with lots of daisy chained gear.
Just recheck your midi settings in both devices
Any ways I can't say without seeing your setup but like I said just sequence from the mpc and sample afterwards
And set the mpc to start sampling with the audio trigger instead of manually maybe?
