Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

What's the one feature everyone will agree the 2000 & 2000XL lack? MUTE GROUPS!

Well there it is, I found a way to get groups of up to 7 pads to mute each other off (instead of 3 without this trick).
I made a little video to demonstrate how it works, you have a link in the description to download the files if you have a way of getting them in your MPC.

You just load the .APS file and use program 1 Bank A, that'll give you 2 mute groups of 7 pads each (A1 -> A7 & A9 -> A15) already setup.

Basically this works by using the mute assign from pads on bank D that have a silent sound assigned to them to cut off more pads from bank A.
This means a pad can mute 6 other pads: 2 from its own mute assign, and 2 from each of the two other pads you can layer on it.

So you just arrange those mute assigns logically to get 7 neighbour pads to mute each other off, that's how I did it.

This really makes the 2000/XL a much better machine in my opinion, not having mute groups is everyone's main gripe about this piece of gear I think.

I know this isn't a very recent post but thanks for this, I've been wondering about this for a while I'm going to download the .APS of your link. What a cool work-around trick. MPC 2000XL (What a machine) !!!!
