getting rid of the hisssssssssss sound...

hello...

im recently aquired a 3 year old mpc 2000xl. now i hocked it up to my mbox and wanted to record the beats from the mpc onto protools.so i go from the stereo out to the source 1 input. now when i listen to the signal going to protool i get a trerrible his and cant use the volume from the mpc to control this. dont know why this happens because when im making a beat on the mpc the sound is clean, the volume knob works and there's no hiss.

i was thinking that the stereo out plug inserts might be damaged. but i really am lost and am dyin to get rid of this sound.

hope someone can help me with this...cheers already inadvance for the ones that take time to awnser.

Hmmm!....I have this same setup except I have the 4000.....! Have you check all cables and everything!.... And you say you only here the hissing sound when you listen though pro tools?...
