The overhang gauge is good to get you in the ballpark. I use them as a starting point, then finish with the protractor. The protractor will give you more precise results. Trust me on that.

I have one of the printable protractors from http://www.vinylengine.com/cartridge-alignment-protractors.shtml that's in this video. But I'm gonna end up buying the one I recommended to you since the paper can be unreliable and not as precise. The video shows the printed protractor and how to use them, which is the same for the other protractors.

Just a little update, went with the Cambridge. Both the preamp and the cartridge(they accidentally att440mlb instead of the mla) came in and the rewiring on the turn table was successful. Other then some very light popping it sounds clean, but I still haven't got the scale yet, so hopefully that will eliminate it. Thank you guys for helping me out with this, Tek especially.

Glad you like everything. They don't make the AT-440-MLa anymore. The B is pretty much the same except the cantilever is slightly different. Should still sound the same anyway.

Yeah, the only difference I could find was about 5k extra on the hz range.
