Sample Record volume low

Im recording audio off my turntable through my interface but its real low, anyone else have this happen?

Do you have a phono pre-amp? You need it not just for the right level, also there will be a frequency correction happening...
You can get them cheap as an hw-addon - or you need an interface with dedicated phono Input.

OK, than you definitly have no phono preamp! If you just turn up the gain it should sound "strange". You need something like an "ART DJ Pre II Phono Preamp" or, if you want to put more money in it something like a "Radial Engineering J 33".

The cheapest way is to use an old hifi-amp and getting the signal from "tape out" to your audio interface. Not nice, but as 1st aid...

Also try normalizing the sample.

Lol ..might just use my XL then.. Even with the newest mpc u need that just to get the sample recorded in high volume, kinda ridiculous no?

I don't have to sample at a high volume to get things to come in right. It really sounds like you lack a preamp from the source you're recording. I use my Mackie with the volume slider at 10 (The middle) and on the 2000XL I don't even need to turn the knob past medium to record at a good volume.

Yeah i have no problems with sampling to my XL... Just comes in the mpc studio quiet.

My buddy has a AMX AP-25 ?i can use, that should do it?

Hi, The AMX should so the job.
You connect that to the line-in of your interface and you are good to go.
Remark: It is the same with the MPC Touch vs. Ren - The Ren has an internal phono preamp, the Touch just line-in. It is a strange product design decision: Why does Akai think, that a MPC with internal audio i/o BUT no phono preamp is a good idea?
