Compression and EQing

I'm still learning this whole MPC Renaissance thing. What I can't grasp is the compression and EQing. Who else in here mixes or tries to attempt to mix in the MPC software?

but if you are really new to the whole MPC Renaissance thing then I would advise you not to concern yourself with Compression and EQ too soon.......its more important to learn the general functions first.....

I use these features to do the rough mix. But I disable the effects if I am exporting the tracks in order to do it more precisly in my DAW.
